Mark Prendergast, born in Dublin, is the author of more than one million words on New & Electronic music. He has written about classical music and rock for newspapers, journals and magazines worldwide and authored the first definitive history of Irish Rock in 1987 and 1990.. Now resident in London his Ambient Century is the culmination of two decades listening with 'all gates open'

Recently he has worked on a new Sound Art Installation in the Mazzoli gallery in Berlin as well as involvement in four films for Chrome Dreams on artists as diverse as David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Depeche Mode and Kraftwerk. Currently he is writing the definitive book on The Durutti Column and the Post Punk Experience for SAF.
